Day 8 - 40 Days for Life Update!

We made it through the first week everybody!  Sure has been a busy one; full of cold and stormy weather, courageous and compassionate people, and testimonies of God's goodness, power and faithfulness as He has continued to work in and through our prayers and presence!

I'd like to extend a super special thanks and kudos to our Monday prayer warriors! The day was filled with wonderful peoples from St. Mary's, St Joseph's, and Human Life of Lewis County. You all were so amazing to brave the snowy and freezing weather! Marlene Ahmann get's the MVP of the day for taking a snowball to the leg from a passing driver!! :-(  Thankfully, that was the worst of it though.  Apparently, the passenger of the vehicle wanted to have a snowball fight... all in fun I'm sure.  ;-)  ;-) (Well, we can always assume the best, right?!) Monday also yielded wonderful results with the story of the dad and his kids that drove by that day. Scroll down to the post From the Mouth's of Children... to get the whole story written by Karen Maxwell!

Tuesday, March 7th was another wonderfully blessed day with Pastor Bill Morris and several of his Jackson Prairie AG church family in the morning!  They were all such troopers in the cold, even though their toes were FREEZING! (Thankfully, I saw Pastor Bill today (Wed.) at the pastor's luncheon and he said his toes were doing just fine...after they thawed)  :-)  A neat thing God did that day... Pastor Bill needed to leave by 1:00 and at that point I had no idea if anyone else would show up.  Well, promptly at 12:50 God brought along my dear sweet friend and relative Janet Tevis to pray; perfect timing!  I now have Pastor's Bill's umbrella too. He told me to keep it saying, "You can keep the umbrella... it belongs to Jesus anyway." That made me laugh, and kept me laughing throughout the day when I thought of it! God continued to bring more awesome peoples from Love Inc. and other families in our area. We ended the day with 5 young people from age 11 - late-twenties. I LOVE to see the next generation stand for LIFE and TRUTH!  God is good!

As I left that night I felt compelled to go talk to the owners of the Auto Parts store across the street from PP. It was a very pleasurable conversation and the owners were very nice and understanding. The owner was impressed by the 40- day length of the vigil and seemed appreciative of our peacefulness.  He said something like, "We've had many other protests here, but yours is very different from anything I've seen... I wouldn't even call it a protest.  But I don't know what to call you guys!"  :-)  God gave that opportunity for me to share our purpose and desire to be a witness to the hope and mercy found in Jesus Christ, as we simply pray for ALL those affected by abortion - especially the unborn! It's been so neat to make and build relationships with community members - from the police commander, to the local business owners, to college students and to so many fellow believers in our community! I pray our witness and relationships will impact their lives, and impact our community!  Praise God!

Wednesday, March 8th - Another blustery, down - pouring day, but again SO blessed by the sweetest, most enthusiastic, and wonderfully kind brothers and sisters from Chehalis Foursquare Church, Love inc, and Westminster Pres. (Sorry if I miss anybody!) We also had one of the college students that stopped in on that first day come for an hour!  She's so sweet, and said she'll come every Wednesday! Pastor Armin had a couple divine appointments with some men that had girlfriends visiting PP.  They told him the girls were there for birth control not abortion, and that they agreed with us that abortion is wrong. They came out to thank the prayer volunteers for being there!

I also had a very encouraging time at the Love Inc. Pastors Luncheon fellowshipping with many new and familiar pastors and ministry leaders and walking through their Mission Fair tables.  God is doing amazing things through so many programs/missions in our area!  Praise God!

Thank you ALL so much for your courage, strength and kindness to give of your time and energy for this cause!  I've been so inspired and amazed at what God is doing through His radiant bride, the church, arising and uniting in prayer for our community and for the precious unborn! God is hearing and answering our prayers, and I look forward to seeing Him continue to work!

Love this song by the Getty's!  If you have a minute please listen.... it's very encouraging!
